From September 10 to 12, the RE+ exhibition, North America's most influential annual solar and energy storage event, took place in California. Over 40,000 energy professionals from more than 120 countries gathered at RE+. Great Power showcased its comprehensive new 2024 overseas energy storage solutions.
Large-scale energy storage holds a dominant position in the U.S. energy storage market. According to EIA data, large-scale storage capacity in the U.S. surged by 201% year-on-year in H1 2024, with demand continuing to rise. Great Power, targeting the needs of overseas markets, has developed the Ultra series battery cells and Magna energy storage cabinets specifically for international customers, both of which have been well-received.
In recent years, safety incidents involving ternary lithium energy storage stations have increased, causing significant damage and safety concerns. Great Power’s Ultra Series cells use LFP material and incorporate self-developed gel flame-retardant electrolyte, pre like thermal runaway and fire hazards from punctures. The cells are equipped with high-temperature-resistant safety separators that prevent short circuits, while internal safety structures, such as explosion-proof valves, prevent fires and explosions and enhancing battery safety.
The gel flame-retardant electrolyte is currently applied in Great Power’s 320 Ultra, 590 Ultra, and sodium-ion battery, with future potential for broader adoption in the other batteries.
Great Power’s high-safety sodium-ion battery attracted significant attention at RE+. As one of the pioneers in sodium-ion battery R&D, Great Power has advanced its sodium-ion batteries to commercial application. The layered oxide sodium battery offers an energy density of up to 150Wh/kg with excellent safety. Several sodium-ion projects have already been successfully deployed.
Great Power also showcased its latest ESS products this year—the Magna 418 Outdoor Energy Storage Cabinet and the Ultra Max 5000 Energy Storage Container. These new solutions offer significantly increased capacity within the same volume and footprint, making them highly integrated and suitable for large-scale, commercial, and industrial energy storage applications. These integrated, modular designs with IP55 protection levels are perfect for large-scale and industrial-commercial applications and are easy to transport and install.
Great Power’s energy storage solutions have already been successfully delivered to customers in over 50 countries and regions. The company has also been recognized as a Tier 1 global energy storage manufacturer by BloombergNEF in 2024.
With nine production bases worldwide and offices in the U.S., Germany, Singapore, Indonesia, Japan, and more, Great Power has established professional, localized teams to provide efficient service to local customers. By bringing high-quality Chinese energy storage products to the global stage, Great Power is committed to making safe, stable clean energy accessible to all.
